mempool -> init the mempool with calloc. we cannot know for sure the

mempool backend inits all members, so make sure they are set to 0. not
a cost worth quibbling over. how many mempools do you really create
during the life of an app?

Convert (hopefully) all comparisons to NULL

Apply badzero.cocci, badnull.coci and badnull2.cocci
This should convert all cases where there's a comparison to NULL to simpler
forms. This patch applies the following transformations:
code before patch ||code after patch
