I've implemented the 8bpp grayscale evas engine. It is based on the 16bpp
engine. It would be nice if someone could review the code and maybe commit
into svn. The patches against evas and ecore are attached.

Gustavo Sverzut Barbieri 3c6e35dd10 be explicit about SUBDIRS and DIST_SUBDIRS, fix maintainer-clean.
automake was "smart enough" to include in DIST_SUBDIRS even when 'if'
clause didn't add it to SUBDIRS, that was causing modules like XPM be
added twice, resulting maintainer-clean to double-clean the directory
(one from src/modules/loaders and other from src/lib), failing on the
second time.

Gustavo Sverzut Barbieri c1c8a18b54 Brand new DirectFB engine.
ProFUSION funded the rework of DirectFB engine, it works quite well,
please report problems with it and be sure to try to uncomment the
following lines to see if it helps:

evas_engine.c: (uncomment if you notice problems)
    //#define DFB_USE_EVAS_IMAGE_DRAW 1
    //#define DFB_USE_EVAS_RECT_DRAW 1
    //#define DFB_USE_EVAS_POLYGON_DRAW 1
    //#define DFB_UPDATE_INDIVIDUAL_RECTS 1

polygon.c: (comment if you notice slowdowns, but may lead to visual problems)
    #define USE_SPAN_RECTS 1

You can also turn on debug by uncommenting in evas_engine.c:
    //#define DFB_DEBUG_IMAGE 1
    //#define DFB_DEBUG_FLAGS 1
    //#define DFB_DEBUG_ACCELERATION 1

doursse 208d20a30f * Add Windows CE engine (1st step)
The engine is not entirely working right now. Recent devices which
  supports the raw frame buffer should work though. But having it in
  cvs will help me as I'm coding it most of the time "blindly" (no
  device to test it)

 * minor formatting in the top evel Makefile.am too

Carsten Haitzler 41b70e1b8a simply as PLACEHOLDER for a glitz engine. i plan on making it almost
identical to the xrender engine - but xrender and glitz do not map entirely
1:1 api-wise.

Carsten Haitzler 46c7d3b025 1. new engine inheritance scheme - its recursive if u want it to be, and so
far buffer, software_x11 and fb engines use it. need to make allother
software enignes use it next then the gl, cairo, xrender engines, then dfb.
it cuts out a LOT of duplicate code. makes writign a new engine or engine
variant much simpler
