First code line was indented differently by DocFX because of tabs,
whitespace or who knows what. This adds a newline after the <code>
tag so all code lines have the same indentation.

New option added to eolian_gen: -e <dir>
This specifies a directory to search for examples. If a file is found with the
same name as an EFL C# class (e.g. Efl.Ui.Button.cs) or as an EFL C# method or
property (e.g. Efl.IText.Text.cs, Efl.IText.SetText.cs) its full
contents will be embedded in the documentation for that class or method within
<example> and <code> tags. This is, in turn, is parsed by DocFX and shown
in Example boxes in the generated pages.
If an example file is not found, no examples are embedded for that object.
If -e is not used, no examples are embedded for any object.
New option added to meson: mono-examples-dir to point to the examples directory.
This directory is then passed to eolian_mono through -e.
Do not use it (or define it to nothing) to disable example embedding.
No performance drop has been observed because of these extra tests.
Right now examples can only be given for base classes, not for derived ones
(i.e. Efl.IText.Text but not Efl.Ui.Button.Text). This will be addressed in a
later commit.

object is not alive then the event will not be propagated.
WeakReferences (and lambdas capturing those WeakRefs) are used to ensure this.
Dispose methods in object now take care of checking if efl libraries are still

Event handling in C# is now centered around a single dictionary inside the
object: `EoEvents`.
C# event triggers now properly trigger events on C too.

Summary:
This commit mainly fixes errors caused by deallocating resources in the garbage
collector thread. Using `ecore_main_loop_thread_safe_call_async` to queue
resource deallocation in the main thread seems to solve it.
Also, some `efl_ref` calls are added in places they were missing, mainly
objects that unref in the destructor thus taking ownership if efl_ref is not
called.
Also fix improper resource deallocation in tests that were causing it to crash,
enabling it to call Efl.All.Shutdown again. This allocation and the deallocation
process was moved from the Eo class constructor to static class methods that are
called in the test 'set up' and 'tear down' methods.
Queuing resource deallocation in the main thread make it mandatory that tests
call `Efl.App.AppMain.Iterate()` if they want to check proper resource
deallocation (like TestFunctionPointers.set_callback_inherited_called_from_c).
Extras:
Remove duplicated declaration of 'eflcustomexportsmono' in meson in order to fix
some linking problems.
Remove some unused code around deallocation functions that had to be reworked.
Object allocation is now supplied with the call site information it expects
(file name and line for _efl_add_start).

Abstract Eo classes are now proper C# abstract classes.
As a side effect, returning Eo instances from native code was reworked
to return instances of their actual Eo classes instead of previous
behavior of returning a generic Efl.Object and using static_cast.
Instead of `var window = Efl.Ui.Win.static_cast(widget.GetParent());`
Use `var window = widget.GetParent() as Efl.Ui.Win;`
Another side effect was that `efl_constructor` was removed from the list
of supported `Efl.Object` overrides. It is invoked inside
`efl_add_internal_start`, before the bindings makes the association of
the newly created EoId with the C# instance that created it, making the
managed delegate meaningless. C# users then can use regular C#
constructors to initialize fields.
Also changed to set the private data of C#-inherited classes before the
call to constructing methods (aka constructor parameters) so C# classes
can override them correctly.

Previously, the type_impl and marshall_type_impl generators relied on a
type mismatch in the match table to fallback to the else branch in the
match check to actually print the type string. This was achieved by
adding the " " prefix to the type.
This commit changes this behavior to invoke a proper visitor just to

This will help conforming to the C# coding conventions.

there is no point in keeping the eo api behind a macro, and it
should be enabled by default. Another case is beta classes, but
those are behind the EFL_BETA_API_SUPPORT guard.
This also changes includes around the place where things are
clearly broken (such as an included header needing something
from another header but that other header being guarded, notably
efl_ui_widget.h needing focus manager but focus manager being
behind beta in Elementary.h)

In order to work around an issue with Efl.App, which is stable but
inherits from Efl.Core.Command_Line, @beta interfaces/mixins in the
inheritance chain are simply skipped.
Also changed the class used int test for inheritance from C#
Efl.Loop is stable but internally it uses a @beta class as argument to
its Register() method in the constructor. When instantiating a
user-defined C# subclass, the binding calls the C# override in the
NativeInherit class and the marshalling fails as no code is generated
for the beta class.
Also moved Efl.Part test to a beta class. Efl.Part is still beta.
Regarding parts, they are skipped if its class is @beta too.
Also rejected all elm_* files in elm public eo files. They should get
back in as they are converted to Efl.Ui.* api. An exception is
elm_interface_scrollable.eo, as efl_ui_panel depends on it.

Summary:
This commit changes the beta ness of a few types, those types are
looking quite stable. Edje types will likely not change. The
Efl.Gfx.Join types are actaully already stable since the last release,
since evas_vg was stable back then and those enums have been in there.
The elementary stuff looks a bit unthought, and we have the chance to
change the API in the backend, so maybe we want to not declare it
stable, but rather reintroduce the legacy types.
With this we can enable eolian generation of beta tags for types.

This also simplifies the beta checking API by unifying it under
objects (makes much more sense that way) and reworks the validator
to have betaness support within its context state, allowing checks
to be done easily in any place.
The betaness checks are disabled for types for the time being,
because otherwise there are too many errors (types are assumed
to be stable as they are not tagged beta, but they reference beta
classes all over the place). Set EOLIAN_TYPEDECL_BETA_WARN to 1
in your environment to force enable the checks.

this currently has no counterpart in interface widgets but would be

Summary:
This commits adds dotnet as a supported C# platform for EFL# bindings.
Due to differences between Mono and Dotnet regarding DllImport, the
bindings now are using an imperative approach to load the function
pointers through the NativeModule and FunctionWrapper classes. These
classes handle the dlopen/LoadLibrary and dlsym/GetProcAddress calls.
Also, the previous caching of non-owned strings returned to native code
was removed until further memory checks.
We also had to create workaround for bool and chars in Structs for C#
marshaling. Going through System.Byte instead and Marshaling manually
to their respective types.
In order to actually build efl_mono.dll with dotnet right now,
issue #4782 from Meson should be fixed to make it properly detect and
used the Dotnet compiler. Also use "-Ddotnet=true" when running meson.

Efl.Class (in practice, the return from the *_class_get() functions) can
be used as argument to functions, like in Efl.Object.provider_find and
Efl.Ui.Widget_Factory.item_class(get/set).
This commits adds support by representing Efl.Class instances
as System.Type in the C# API, allowing someone to do things like:

the API is a little bit problematic. The API takes events as an
parameter. However, only the hide and show events can be used, because
move for example is not intercepted, which leads to a situation that you
cannot attach a translation animation to the event. Further more,
handling the animations directory instead of pipeing them through events
seems to be a little bit easier as the case study of the previous events
have shown. Further more, we should never ever overwrite the
callback_call function of a eo base object, those methods are an
incredible hotpath, by the time we would have 1-2 animations on a
object, the event submission would be significetly slowned down.

If legacy implementations are generated, eolian_gen now creates
a separate file for them and includes it. The file name convention
for that is <.c file name without ext>.legacy.<.c file name ext>
or <.c file name>.legacy.c if it has no ext, so for example
foo.eo.c becomes foo.eo.legacy.c and foo becomes foo.legacy.c.
The file is generated assuming there are any legacy APIs contained
inside the .eo file.
eolian_mono now generates properties (which simply wrap the setter and getter
methods when both ara available), but they were missing docs, because
properties require a special <value> tag instead of <returns> or <param> which
we are already implementing.
This commit adds <value> tags only if docs can be retrieved from the setter or
the getter methods.
This adds support for generating reflection functions for
properties. This support is basic for now, supporting only
primitive types and string(shares), it will be expanded later
as required.

Summary:
Eolian adds a per-class BETA guard (like EFL_UI_WIN_BETA) to any method tagged
as @beta. This means that any app (and the EFL code) wanting to use BETA features
has to enable them class by class, which is cumbersome.
This commit replaces the individual guards with the global EFL_BETA_API_SUPPORT
guard, so apps only need to define one symbol to access BETA features.
Any usage of the per-class guards has been removed from the EFL code and examples.
When building EFL the global guard is defined by configure, so all EFL methods
already have access to BETA API.
Efl_Core.h and Efl_Ui.h no longer define EFL_BETA_API_SUPPORT. Apps wanting to
use BETA API have to define this symbol before including any EFL header
(It has been added to the examples requiring it).

As in the previous commit explained, we want to get rid of class
functions in eo, and make them just c functions right away.
This commit removes the class parameter from the eo_class_function_set
call, and adjusts the tests to not depend on class functions anymore.
Class functions are now not tested anymore, tests that used them as a
way to test *things* are adjusted to test them now with object
functions, tests that just tested the working of class functions are
dropped.
This fixes T7675.

Until this commit eo did class functions as part of the vtable, which
enabled those functions to be overwritten in classes inheriting another
class. However in task T7675 we decided that this is not really good for
bindings, as most OOP languages do not support this sort of feature.
After this commit eolian realizes class function completly outside of
the vtable, the c-symbol that is the class funciton is now just directly
redirecting to a implementation, without the involvement of the vtable.
This also means a change to the syntax created by eo:
Calling before:
class_function(CLASS_A);
Calling after:
class_function();
Implementation before:
class_function(const Eo *obj, void *pd) { ... }
Implementation after:
class_function(void) { ... }
This fixes T7675.

This makes sense for the C generator and our dependency tracking

elementary_test Efl.Animation.Interpolator test performs Invalid
memory access if the window is closed during the animation. This can
lead to elm_test crashing after the main window is closed.
In order to avoid this invalid memory access, when the window gets
deleted we can delete the efl_event_callback so that the event does
not fire while the window is being deleted.

If widget use both hint_align(HINT_FILL) and hint_max together, there is no way
to set to hint_align. See, elementary_test -to 'efl.ui.box' -
"Button with a quite long text." button. you can control button position
using "Box align" slider, but this is not proper implementation. When there are
two widget which have hint_align(HINT_FILL) and hint_max, those positions are
determined by box_align rather than hint_align. it means widget align cannot be
set individually.
To solve this problem, this patch add hint_fill property. in order to avoid
conflict with legacy API named evas_object_size_hint_fill_set(), it only works
for EO widgets(made by efl_add).
Also, EFL_GFX_SIZE_HINT_FILL is removed.

My use case here is having elementary_test being loaded by exactness.
That has been working fine with our autotools based build system but no
longer with meson.

__proxy is used, so use __user_proxy in generated code... this lead to
crashes with the music-control module because itused the codegen for

However, it caused ambiguity if some classes had "Type" property.
Therefore, "System.Type" is used explicitly to remove ambiguity.
you can use this now to let the focus move to the widget container of

After the new API, the virtual wrapper classes (*NativeInherit) just
declared the wrappers for the current class. But as they didn't have any
inheritance information, reimplementing methods from a parent Eo class
wouldn't work. (e.g. Efl.Ui.Button reimplementing Efl.Object
FinalizeAdd).
This commit changes these NativeInherit classes to mimic the inheritance
chain of their regular/abstract counterparts, reusing the virtual
wrapper implementations.
In order to access the correct Eo class created, the methods on it were
changed from static to instance methods. The instance will be held as a
class member of the regular/abstract API class to keep the delegates
alive and allow getting C Function pointers from them.
The class_initializer method was also split in two. The method
collecting the wrapper delegates was extracted in order to call the
parent ones.
Also avoid exception in cached strings queries as TryGetValue requires
non-null keys.

This implements scrolling the scroller when the scroller is not in the
maximum position of the requested relation, but there is no more focus
object in that relation.
Summing up, the scroller is scrolled manually, when the focus object is

expedite is basically dead. because it's out of tree and because it
was ported to eo too early... but it's also not a great tool given it
requires manual addition of engines and can't test elm stuff (complex
widgets).
so this is an elm based performance tool. i've added some tests (taken
from expedite and modified a bit). to get the ball rolling. the idea
is to add all the important core tests (rects, images, text, video
etc.) and then add widget/smart object like tests that go beyond what
expedite did. the problem with these tests is they are dependent on
theme. there isn't really any way around that... but i might
categorize tests in the end.

- Refactored the class generator, splitting into helper methods
Eo handles now are stored only in the "root" class in any given
inheritance tree (generally, Efl.Object), and accessible to each child.
Methods also are defined in a single place instead of repeatedly
generated in everyfile, reducing the size of the generated .dll from
30MB to around 4.5MB.
Mixins are generated as C# interfaces but any regular class it inherits
from is lost, as we can't have interfaces inheriting from regular
classes. This will be dealt with in a later commit.
Summary of API Changes:
- Merged Inherit/Concrete classes. (These suffixes disappear from
regular classes).
- Interface still have implementations with 'Concrete' suffix for when
they are returned from methods.
- Removed 'I' from interface names.
- Removed interfaces for regular/abstract Eo classes.
- Concrete classes for interfaces/mixins hold the event argument struct.
- Removed '_' from classes, enums, structs, etc, as indicated in C#
naming conventions.
- Namespaces are now Camel.Cased.
- Renamed IWrapper's raw_handle/raw_klass to NativeHandle/NativeClass
Also renamed the test classes as after the namespace change, the
test namespace Test can conflict with the helper Test namespace.
(And use more meaningful names than Test.Testing...)
Also Fixes T7336 by removing a deprecated example and adding
efl_loop_timer_example to build system.
Fixes T7451 by hiding the class_get DllImports and renaming the IWrapper
fields. The native handlers are used in the manual binding.
Still need to work:
- As there are still some events names clashing (e.g. Efl.Ui.Bg with "resize"
from Efl.Gfx.Entity and Efl.Gfx.Image), Events are currently declared on
the interface and implemented "namespaced" in the classes,
requiring the cast to the interface to access the event.
- The Mixin Conundrum. Mixin inheritance will be dealt in a future
commit.

Eolian now separates 'parent' and 'extensions'. For regular
classes, parent is the first item in the inherits list and
extesions is the rest. For interfaces and mixins, parent is
NULL and extends is the inherits list.
The reason for this is the separation of them in syntax in near
future. It also slightly changes the behavior; since for interfaces
and mixins, parent is always NULL now, you can freely inherit from
all types of classes without needing to manually put an interface
type as the first item of the inherits list.
Summary:
Efl.Ui.Bg interface does not have any new property or method.
Moreover, Efl.Ui.Bg interface is not used by widgets except
Efl.Ui.Bg_Widget and Efl.Ui.Widget_Part_Bg.
Consequently, Efl.Ui.Bg interface can be replaced by other interfaces.
Due to Efl.Ui.Bg interface, the bg widget class name becomes
Efl.UI.Bg_Widget which is not synchronized with other widget names.
Therefore, to keep consistency with other widgets, it would be better to
remove Efl.Ui.Bg interface and rename Efl.Ui.Bg_Widget to Efl.Ui.Bg.

another case of blind strncat usage rthat seemingly did a:
strcat(buf, str); -> strncat(buf, str, strlen(tr));
which is the most pointless thing to do ever. it's no better. it's
worse as it makes it harder to identify issues. thanks these days
compilers warn about this as a stupid thing to do... so i looked at it
and fixed it properly.
again - don't do this stuff above - it's pointless. patches that do
this should be rejected. fix it properly or leave it as-is.
the "let's use strncpy" brigade of course made sure to use it to "be
secure" and yet still overtflow the buffer... this is a perfect lesson
in DOP NOT USE strncpy unless you carefully think about the code and
get it right. i mean things like:
strncat(buf, profiles[i], strlen(profiles[i]) + 1);
is blindly using strncpy ... and it's no better than strcpy, but mroe
complex and giving the illusion of "it's safe". pay attention to your
code people. please. thanks.
This is a big rewrite. In addition to implementing functionality with
the new Efl interfaces, a lot of legacy (Elm) code was removed.
A lot of work is squashed in this patch as the widget would've been
completely broken otherwise.
The major changes are:
Life-cycle:
- Code was split to have 'finalize'
- Item anchors (emoticons, images) were rewritten to have proper
life-cycle
Scrolling logic:
- Efl.Ui.Internal_Text_Scroller widget was added, and replaces the old
Elm.Interface_Scrollable implementation. Singe-line and multi-line
modes were fixed as well as sizing calculations. The object is now
swallowed inside the Ui.Text widget.
Copy and paste:
- Code was converted to Efl.Selection logic.
Modified tests:
elementary_test -to "efl.ui.text"
elementary_test -to "efl.ui.text label"
Added tests:
elementary_test -to "efl.ui.text inputfield"
Removed test:
elementary_test -to "efl.ui.text.async"
this mirrors the behaviour of eolian & eolian_cxx. Usally a generator
just generates the files side by side, the directory then needs to be
included anyways. thus adding the include with another subdirectory is
unusal.

It is now possible to generate a separate .d file which will
contain Make-style dependencies for the files generated in that
batch, i.e. if you geerate header, legacy header and source, the
.eo.d file will contain dependency lists for those three.
It should be possible to integrate this into our build system to
enable proper regeneration of .eo files in an incremental manner.

Let's not do this as it makes the tool harder to test AND actually
removes vital features even under E. elementary_Config is really meant
as a demo config tool. not a good usable one. Ultimately E should
actually do all the good things in elm config so its just some debug
tool then or one for other non-e desktops to use.
Summary:
Legacy group names are not consistent (for example, only half of them have the
_Group suffix), therefore this commit does not fix ALL problems related to
EO-generated @ingroup tags not matching manually-generated @defgroup tags.
However, it fixes a great deal of them and the rest should be easier to fix
by hand.
Test Plan:
After running "make doc", some of the EO-generated methods like
ecore_timer_interval_set() which did not appear in the API reference
documentation should be available now.

meson was taken because it went quite good for enlightenment, and is a traction gaining system that is also used by other mayor projects. Additionally, the DSL that is defined my meson makes the configuration of the builds a lot easier to read.
Further informations can be gathered from the README.meson
Right now, bindings & windows support are missing.
It is highly recommented to use meson 0.48 due to optimizations in meson
that reduced the time the meson call would need.

Summary:
The efl.Event struct has a class field that gets generated normally but
can be problematic when marshalling the struct back from C to C#. The
compilation works fine but when C# runtime tries to marshall the C data
(e.g. accessing the Event.Info field), it becomes erratic, either
complaining about missing references to object or even segfault.
This commit changes the event handling code to use the
"Event_StructInternal" struct as is already done when receiving structs
from C code.
In order to work with other assemblies, the _StructInternal fields were
made publit too.
Fixes the events tests and the text editor app.
Test Plan: make check and run the text editor app in examples repo.
