Marcel Hollerbach 46d464e5bf here comes meson
a new shiny buildtool that currently completes in the total of ~ 4 min..
1 min. conf time
2:30 min. build time
Where autotools takes:
1:50 min. conf time
3:40 min. build time.

meson was taken because it went quite good for enlightenment, and is a traction gaining system that is also used by other mayor projects. Additionally, the DSL that is defined my meson makes the configuration of the builds a lot easier to read.

Further informations can be gathered from the README.meson

Right now, bindings & windows support are missing.

It is highly recommented to use meson 0.48 due to optimizations in meson
that reduced the time the meson call would need.

Carsten Haitzler ebf1f71194 emotion - emotion_test - dont limit fps to 30 as this doesn't help tests
so i noticed it was jerky... to move/resize the video obj. it's
because it set fps to 30... well that was silly. didn't help chasing a
ghost, so remove this to avoid chasing hosts.

Jean-Philippe Andre 9cec14918c evas: Move evas_canvas.eo to legacy-only
This isn't meant to be installed. The canvas API in EO is based around
the interfaces Efl.Canvas and the widget Efl.Ui.Win. Anything else is
not EO (eg: ecore_evas, evas, ...)

Note: evas_canvas3d is the last remaining thing that is installed along
EO files, but those are all beta APIs.

Daniel Hirt 6e1b5fdd10 Canvas layout: port part_text to efl_part
You now use the following:

  efl_text_set(efl_part(edje_obj, "part"), "text");
  const char *text = efl_text_get(efl_part(edje_obj, "part"));

The former method of edje_object_part_text_set/get is now legacy.

Also, adjusted 'tests/emotion/emotion_test_main-eo.c' with
this change.

Jean-Philippe Andre ce0d15ecb3 edje: Reshuffle a bit edje_object.eo
This changes a few method names:
 - freeze -> calc_freeze
 - thaw -> calc_thaw
 - update_hints -> calc_update_hints

Otherwise this is mostly about reshuffling the EO file itself
and changing documentation.

Jean-Philippe Andre f767e8bea4 edje: Move part drag APIs to efl_part
This moves all part_drag APIs to legacy and implements them for
EO using efl_part(). All parts now support these APIs, even if
they are not draggable. Making this more fine grained would
probably be much extra work for little gain.

This creates a new interface Efl.Ui.Drag.

Jean-Philippe Andre d504284dd2 efl: Rename Efl.Event.XX to Efl.Input.XX
This removes:
 Efl.Event interface

And renames:
 Efl.Event.Input -> Efl.Input.Event
 Efl.Event -> Efl.Input.Event (merged)
 Efl.Event.Pointer -> Efl.Input.Pointer
 Efl.Event.Key -> Efl.Input.Key
 Efl.Event.Hold -> Efl.Input.Hold

This also moves some interfaces from efl/ to evas/ where they
belong better.

This allows renaming Eo_Event to Efl_Event.

Tom Hacohen e65aae994e Eo: Finish the renaming of Eo to the EFL.
This renames all the rest of the API to the EFL namespace except for
Eo_Event that will follow soon.

Obviously breaks both API and ABI.

Ji-Youn Park a75fb5763a evas_canvas: move evas_output_XXX API from eo to legach.
evas canvas will be removed from eo.
evas_output_XXX APIs are usually used by widget or e17.
I decided not open these kind of APIs to eo.
app can use the size of elm win instead of evas output apis.

Tom Hacohen a6a2338962 Revert "Eo: Remove eo_del() and make eo_unref() the replacement."
This reverts commit 546ff7bbba.

It seems that eo_del() is useful and removing it was creating bugs.
The issue is that the way we defined parents in eo, both the parent and
the programmer share a reference to the object. When we eo_unref() that
reference as the programmer, eo has no way to know it's this specific
reference we are freeing, and not a general one, so in some
circumstances, for example:
eo_ref(child);
eo_unref(child); // trying to delete here
eo_unref(container); // container is deleted here
eo_unref(child); // child already has 0 refs before this point.

We would have an issue with references and objects being freed too soon
and in general, issue with the references.

Having eo_del() solves that, because this one explicitly unparents if
there is a parent, meaning the reference ownership is explicitly taken
by the programmer.

eo_del() is essentially a convenience function around "check if has
parent, and if so unparent, otherwise, unref". Which should be used when
you want to delete an object although it has a parent, and is equivalent
to eo_unref() when it doesn't have one.

Tom Hacohen 546ff7bbba Eo: Remove eo_del() and make eo_unref() the replacement.
We used to have eo_del() as the mirrored action to eo_add(). No longer,
now you just always eo_unref() to delete an object. This change makes it
so the reference of the parent is shared with the reference the
programmer has. So eo_parent_set(obj, NULL) can free an object, and so
does eo_unref() (even if there is a parent).

This means Eo no longer complains if you have a parent during deletion.

Tom Hacohen f21ade6123 Automatic migration to Eo4.
I just ran my script (email to follow) to migrate all of the EFL
automatically. This commit is *only* the automatic conversion, so it can
be easily reverted and re-run.

Carsten Haitzler c20cf0964f emotion - make emotion object init now optional.
if you don't init (or set engine) on an emotion object, itstill works
- it chooses the default engine.. whihc i now have set as gst1. :) one
less thing that HAS to be done on init. better.

Davide Andreoli 2a85f160b8 Emotion test: added --loop and --position args.
* New --loop: restart the playback when end reached
* New --position: start the playback from the last know position
* Fixed double -R option. now -r is --reflex and -R is --copyright

Loop and last-position was implemented yet, this commit just made
them optionally, so the default behaviour of the test reflect the
default behaviour of emotion.

Davide Andreoli 11e04529f8 Emotion test: no need for an animator to update the time string.
It is yet handled in the frame decode callback, tested with vlc, gstreamer1, video and only audio.

Davide Andreoli 5e493a0851 Emotion test: add the volume slider also to the Reflex group.
NOTE: do we really need to maintain 2 different groups for the reflex effect?
The 2 groups differ only for the added reflection part.
Isn't enough to show/hide the reflection part when requested?
