Carefully select the requested EGL config and match it with
the available visual from X, including the following options:
- Stencil
- Depth
- MSAA
TODO: The same thing for GLX. And fix direct rendering as well.
Summary:
This patch set adds the necessary code to expose device axis state to applications. This was primarily written with graphics tablets in mind, which -- in addition to acting like a mouse -- also provide information about pen pressure, tilt, etc. Other devices could potentially benefit from this API as well: touchscreens, joysticks, knob controllers, "spaceballs", etc.
Whenever an update to the device state is recieved, an "Axis update" event is synthesized. This event contains the updated information, typically scaled and normalized to a particular logical range (e.g. zero to one for pressure, -pi to pi radians for angles, etc.). Information about the tool which generated the event is also stored so that applications can disambiguate events from multiple devices (or in the case of multitouch screens, individual fingers).
This API is only wired up for use with X11 at the moment. Support for other backends (e.g. Wayland) should be easy to add for those familiar them.

Test Plan: The evas-multi-touch demo was updated to support axis update events. A graphics tablet was then used to verify that the pressure, azimuth, tilt, and twist data was coming through correctly.

- glGetString(GL_VERSION) should not return "OpenGL ES 3.0" because
GLESv3 is not supported yet.
- GL_EXTENSIONS should return only the list of supported extensions
--> disabled for now as the whitelist of safe extensions is way
too small.
Apps would crash if they call make current without creating
a surface in the same thread. I don't see a good reason why
we should have this a limitation.
It will be triggered when EVAS_GL_API_DEBUG is set.
Yeah, that's abusing the variable a bit, as it was intended for
GL calls only, but this is pretty harmless.
Also add string "GL_DEPTH_STENCIL".
NOTE: The draw_buffers extension might need to be checked more and
wrapped, if it can have adverse effects on how Evas works (could
it replace the default render target?).
This adds support for the following extensions:
- disjoint_timer_query
- occlusion_query_boolean
- alpha_test
- draw_buffers
- read_buffer
- read_buffer_front
- framebuffer_blit
This will mark some extension functions as "safe", which means
we don't need to wrap them in order to expose them.
All the known extensions from Evas_GL_API have been marked as safe
for now.
In the future, we may encounter extensions that are not safe
out of the box, but can be wrapped. At that time, we will have
to mark them as safe but return the pointer to the wrapper instead.
Until then, only whitelisted extensions will be supported.

The idea is that normal opengl applications might very well want to
check for an extension using the usual string and not have to do
something special just because they're using evas_gl and not egl.
Some shader files (shd) were not included in EXTRA_DIST. This didn't break
the build because the .x file was correctly generated.
I guess the missing files in previous releases also had no impact because
the .h files would be generated and shipped.
Also generate the enum automagically. New shaders need to be added
to Makefile_Evas.am.
All shaders will be in a single .x (C) file.
There shall be no more useless .h files.
This also removes the need for awk (replaced by sed and bash stuff)
this cleans oyt a few bits o9f old glx context handling code that are
no longer used as well as avoids causing server-side to crash on
tryng to set a "none" glxwindow as current. this is what cases the
nvidia server-side crashes.
Summary: Wayland windows should follow X11 windows fairly closely,
thus only set withdrawn property if they are override windows. If not,
internal dialogs do not show up in Enlightenment (wayland-only).

evas gl window was freed before new one was created getting shared ctx
to 0 refcount thus freeing everything there - BAD. fix. new issue in
git, not from release
so this is a re-try at the evas gl destination alpha fix. this is what
cedric tried, but done RIGHT. it required adding an ecore_x call to
create a window with correct visual/colormap. it requires doing
visuals totally correctly all the way from ecore_evas to the evas
gl_x11 core. nvidia drivers are very picky about visuals. i also had
to vid the egl/gles code too to do the same thing. nvidia gles/egl
drivers are also picky, mesa is not. this all requires a lot of code
changes. it's far from trivial
this isn't backported for a few reasons:
1. verify this fix doesn't break for anyone.
i tested:
nvidia glx + egl/gles
intel glx + egl/gles
radeon glx
it needs wider testing. nouveau, fglrx for starters and maybe
some other gles/egl drivers.
2. have some review time
3. time to settle before blasting to stable branches

Not sure if this is very relevant, since GLX does not support
GL-ES as such, anyways... We should be using the extension
GLX_EXT_create_context_es_profile to create proper contexts.
Note: GLX + OpenGL-ES 1.1 crashes at any function call on my
machine (binary bloc driver), while EGL + GLES1.1 is fine.

Forgot to set the TLS value after creating a new context.
No problem would show up in most cases, even in my test app.
But elementary_test GLView would just not work at all, spitting
incomplete FBO errors at me. Damn this one line was hard to find.
But introduced in df66916cd22ec6c4.
This introduces XPixmap usage for indirect rendering.
Of course this works only for the gl_x11 engine... and for
now only when using EGL... and only on some drivers...
damn limitations.
Direct rendering should work on more platforms (eg. some desktop
nvidia cards with the EGL drivers).
Add version param to context_create.
Add support for 1.1 contexts in the GL_X11 engine, and checks
for version in all other engines (return NULL).
Add API wrappers for all OpenGL-ES 1.1 APIs (normal and debug
modes).
Welp, glGetString() crashes if called before eglInit... And this
piece of code is now useless because "safe native" mode is not
used anymore (safe_native is never read).
Remove all safe native-related code.
When using EGL, this function should return the properties of
a surface. Limited to a subset of known attributes.
Right now, this function will only work fine with EGL.
GLX support or any other engine is not implemented.

When using direct rendering, glClear() should not do anything
if the ClearColor was (0,0,0,0). The application would indeed

This was affecting use of GL backend when having a transparent window. It
is actually a fix for a bug reported by Thanatermesis. It has been inspired
by D1229.
To reproduce the issue just do ELM_ACCEL=gl elementary_test -to "Icon transparent".
Summary: If no device name was passed in to ecore_drm_device_find
function, then if we fail to find the default drm device on the first
call, there is No point in calling the same function again to get the
same result.

While it is bad that the given device is not found we fall back here
to the default one. Still good to mention it in the error message as
it can be confusing when we read that the device could not be found
be it still works.
This fixes an issue where we had to hard-code the resolution in the
wl_drm module. Instead, we now properly get the current screen
resolution/mode from the drm library and use that.
NB: This is needed to fix wl_drm module in Enlightenment to setup the
proper resolution.

this fixes gst and gst1 modules to leave volume be on start. generic
can't really query easily, so just set to 0.8 by default, and xine is
already just fine. do this because back-ends seems to have a habit of
setting master volume, not per-app volume.

Summary:
This fixes following build script problems for ecore_evas_drm engine module.
1. Missing link to gbm for ecore_evas_drm if '--enable-gl-drm' option is given.
ecore_evas_drm engine is using gbm function if it builds with that config option.
To be more exact, ecore_evas_gl_drm_new_internal function needs gbm.
Thus we need to add gbm library linking '-lgbm' to ecore_evas_drm engine module
if '--enable-gl-drm' option is given. I've added this build script to
m4/ecore_check_module.m4 file.
2. Wrong gbm dependency check code in configure.ac
EFL_OPTIONAL_INTERNAL_DEPEND_PKG m4 macro function is designed for checking
dependency of efl internal libraries. Thus we should remove gbm pkg name when
configuring ecore_evas_drm engine module. It would be better to move dependency
check for gbm to m4/ecore_check_module.m4 file. And one more thing want_drm
value has to be changed to want_gl_drm in ECORE_EVAS_MODULE([gl-drm]...).
3. BUILD_ECORE_EVAS_OPENGL_DRM macro is always defined in configure.ac.
This kind of macro, BUILD_EFL_MODULE_NAME, has to be defined only if given module
is enabled. But this macro value was just defined with no test.
And it is even useless, we can use BUILD_ECORE_EVAS_GL_DRM macro which is defined
by ECORE_EVAS_MODULE([gl-drm], [${want_gl_drm}],...) function.
So I've removed that from configure.ac.

1. Configure with --enable-gl-drm:

With the move to ecore_drm for tty handling these all became unused.
Ecore_drm already takes care of setting up the SIGUSR1/2 handler and
the rest of the tty setup.
Now that this is gone evas_drm_init/shutdown have no functionality
anymore either.
When getting called from expedite we don't have ecore_evas in between which
normally sets things up for tty. Handle this special case here so the evas
drm engine keeps working for expedite.
Summary:
When ee is trying to do rotation, ee should check whether given rotation value
is portrait or not. Then it sets output size of evas canvas according to rotation value.
But, ECORE_EVAS_PORTRAIT macro used in ee x engine only checks ee's rotation value, even
if ee's rotation value is not updated yet. Thus we should change the logic to compare with
given rotation value, not ee's rotation, before setting output size of evas.
This fixes T1371 problem.

tga provides 16bpp images as actually 15bpp. the upper bit (alpha mask
bit) can be 0 or 1, but we don't check the descriptor byte to see if
this bit is relevant or not. coverity pointed this out in CID 1039473
- logically dead code that should not have been dead except for this
missing logic. well done coverity!
Recent expedite changes have uncovered an issue where the ecore_evas
(under wayland) was not supporting async rendering correctly. This
fixes the issue so we can run expedite with -y and get redraws again.

While we are likely will keep the embedded copy for a while to avoid a really
new dependency we allow now to use the external liblz4. You need at least
revision r120 and a package that ships the pc file for it.
Personally I would like to get rid of it rather sooner than later due to the
security implications and a bunch of code we ship but have no idea about.
Reality is that it will need some time until this new lib is actually
packaged and shipped with releases for a a majority of people.

This fix a case where when doing asynchronous rendering and no update was done,
the post render evas event would never be triggered and so no call to ecore evas
post render callback were made. Now the async X backend follow all other backend
behavior.

Rendering on main surface can be broken due to invalid size of common gl context.
Since common gl context is shared between surfaces, if new surface has been changed
size of common gl context, then rendering on main surface can be broken.

make current according to size of current Outbuf.

This fix T1459. I have added an ERR to catch this kind of issue earlier.
I am wondering if that should not be even a CRI.
The reason why we do see the problem only after the introduction of the
use of Eina_Rectangle_Pool is due to how efficiently they pack data, resulting
in ressource ending up in the wrong format bucket. Nothing wrong with the
patch itself.

several loaders make too much noise when a file fails to load - almost
all of this is because the file isnt actually an image format file at
all, and an ap is just asking evas to try do a load to see if it is a
loadable image at all. this results in noisy strerr output that simply
shouldnt be there. so silence for loaders. @fix
i found that we are not setting u and v to be smooth (linear
interpolate) for yuv reendering, even when asked. they remain at a
default "nearest". this enables linear for u and v always, meaning
even when smooth is off, we still interpolate u and v (not y), and
even when at 1:1 with no scaling u and v get interpolation for better
quality.

since colors are hex, 96 bytes of hex would be 32bytes per r, g and b,
and that would be 128 bits per r g and b and that just is never seen
or used. also coverity is right in CID 1193201 that we just can't
shift that many, so go down to max 16 bits per rgb which is sensible
and able to be done. (thats 12 bytes max for hex of color).
We cannot use the texture to find a valid format Before the texture is
actually created. This is invalid, leads to "warning: tex is used
uninitialized' message from the compiler, and just plain wrong.
Instead, use the alpha property of the Evas_GL_Image to find the
proper texture format, Then create the texture.

so in fixing one CID for a format lookup failing and thus invalid mem

It is called before eglGetDisplay. Then mesa considers that current egl platform is
X11 if it has no EGL_PLATFORM env var. This behavior of mesa is bad. But we should
provide workaround until it is fixed. Thus EGL_PLATFORM env var should be defined to
wayland before calling eglGetProcAddress.

Seems the newer wayland-egl code was missing the log domain variable
and thus would not load at time of dlsym due to missing symbol. This
fixes that problem by defining the variable.

We are already using the pointer before we check it here. We also don't
check it in the other callbacks so align the handling in this file.

these were static rect cutouts, so they stayed around on exit and thus
we "lost" them. this nukes them on context free and each new frame.
fixes the "leak"
The eng_gl_context functions are used for Evas 3D, so let's support
those in the wayland_egl engine.

Previous (french) changes to evas_gl code broke the wayland egl engine. This
batch of changes fixes that by rewriting to engine to work with new
evas_gl functions.

Summary:
Plug image is displayed incorrect after connect to socket.
Test case: Run ecore_evas_extn_socket_example -> run ecore_evas_extn_plug_example -> click Change bg to change bg color.
Run 2nd ecore_evas_extn_plug_example. The plug area image of 2nd plug is incorrect display (different with 1st plug image).
Reason: When a plug connects to socket, socket sends incorrect buffer information.
Fix: Change buffer information.

ico files were defined to have bmp's in each key - in fact a subset of
them. unbenknownst to yours truly, vista now allows them to also be
pngs and thus the ico loader rejects them as corrupt. at least detect
it and complain right now
We use this functionality already from ecore_drm. The evas version does
not even use udev to acquire the device which means we could not support
hotplugging. The only missing feature was the capability check for
DUMB_BUFFER which I added to ecore_drm now.
This is the second iteration of this patch. Thsi time also taking expedite
runs of he evas drm engine in account.
Note that we can't access gl_common directly as it is not possible to link it
2 times. I also didn't want to force evas to be linked with GL/EGL. So I rely
now on dlsym on about 20 symbols to get that backend going.
This is the first step to introduce a common gl infrastructure for all gl based backend.
For now it is strictly doing the exact same thing that the gl_x11 was doing, but I already
spoted that a lot of the optimization in gl_x11 where not incorporated in other gl backend.
So this is going to help everyone by sharing more code on a crucial part of our infrastructure.

we've got a side effect(another quality issue) of the patch. so revert it.
Masking is not used (there even was a recent commit by Hermet to
remove most of the occurences of mask shaders in GL), and I've
introduced a new ETC1+Alpha feature. Replace the old texm and
associated variables by texa for alpha texures.
Summary: Add support for canvas resizing: the window was resizable but its content was not resized.

Software Generic backend can send us OUTBUF_DEPTH_INHERIT during a
reconfigure. If we are inheriting the previous depth, let's check that
so we don't get needless destrouction/recreation of shm buffers.

Seems the new software_generic backend is passing in
OUTBUF_DEPTH_INHERIT during a reconfigure, so let's add a check for
that else if not, the entire drm engine stops rendering due to output
buffers not being created to match the framebuffer depth.

We cannot use epd->output.w/h in these calls as the setup of the
output buffer May cause a resize. Drm buffers cannot be allocated
Smaller than the framebuffer size, so evas_drm_outbuf_setup function
May resize the ob->w/h to match the framebuffer.
